Spotlight: PLGRM - 'The Westside Watchman'

A musing on the life and work of iconic Melbourne youth social worker Les Twentyman, The Westside Watchman is a recent release from local filmmaking outfit PLGRM.

Directed and produced by Alex Siddons, whose other credits include The Saints of St Kilda, an exploration of the infamous Gatwick Hotel, The Westside Watchman focuses its lens on Les' 35-year career in youth outreach.

Viewed by many as a father figure to the young people of Melbourne's west, Les remains one of Victoria's most prominent social campaigners, vocal on issues of homelessness, drug abuse, welfare and, as the documentary elucidates most clearly, prison reform.
