Our Pitch Picks

The Collective

The inaugural Pitch Music & Arts Festival is just around the corner and it plans to kick off with an almighty bang. Delivering an all-time underground techno and house lineup, you would be forgiven for thinking you were about to go to a festival in Central Europe rather than the picturesque Grampians.

With such a stacked lineup, it could be quite the struggle to see all the acts performing. So here are our unmissable artists who demand your presence on the dancefloor.

Straight out of Detroit, Omar-S delivers scintillatingly raw and emotive house music. His range is distinctive as it is varied, both within track selection and his very own production. Whilst he is clashing with heavy hitter Dixon, Omar-S is a sure bet for a smooth, funky and bouncing set this weekend.

Sunday - 8 pm, Electrum Stage

Donato Dozzy

A favourite of many heading to the Grampians this weekend and for good reason. Donato Dozzy is one of a kind with his mixture of ambient, techno and acid. The Italian producer's sound is hypnotic, dark and captivating. His sets are true journies. Be there from start to finish to experience the real deal.

Saturday - 8 pm, Electrum Stage

Toro Y Moi

With a lineup that is mostly house and techno, Toro Y Moi is a bit of an odd, yet very welcome, inclusion. The American's brand of chillwave is a perfect selection for the twilight 6 pm set. Toro Y Moi's unique blend of funk, RnB, pop and indie will absolutely shine in the afternoon breeze.

Sunday - 6 pm, Vanish Point Stage

Henrik Schwarz

A true veteran of the underground dance scene, Henrik Schwarz has reinvented himself with his pulsating live sets. Kicking off Sunday early, Schwarz will drag punters out of bed with his bombastic beats. Be sure to see one of the best live producers work his craft. Check out his latest single below.

Sunday - 12 pm, Béton Brut Stage

Detroit Swindle
Some DJ's just know how to throw a party and few do it like Detroit Swindle. An excellent choice to kick off the festival in primetime, the Dutch duo have a deep and versatile record collection. Expect disco, house, techno and everything in between as you groove along on Friday night. This is also the only Boiler Room that we know of where the act changes their turntables mid-set.

Friday - 1030 pm, Béton Brut Stage

Francesca Lombardo

Francesca Lombardo pushes genre boundaries with her comprehensive musical range. Her sense of rhythm is one of a kind as she uses her classically-trained background to deliver mesmerically spell-binding sets. With her early set time, be sure to wake up nice and fresh for what sets to be a highlight of the weekend.

Saturday - 12 pm, Béton Brut Stage

Sleep D

Local boys Sleep D have been executing blistering sets around Melbourne for a few years now and look prime to take the next step with their set this weekend. With a range that swings constantly from buttery funk to eclectic house to burning techno, the duo has defined their sound as ambitious as it is enjoyable. They've been given the keys to the main stage, time to see them get to work.

Saturday - 630 pm, Béton Brut Stage

With these great acts and more, it's shaping up for a Pitch Perfect weekend.
